Through your generosity you can make a big difference in the lives of your neighbors . The Leisure World community is a microcosm of our world with some of our neighbors needing help from time to time.  Donations are collected at our monthly membership meetings.

Become a Grand Reader

Grand Reader volunteers are needed to assist students at Bel Pre E.S

The Grand Readers Program allows grandparents or senior citizens to come into elementary or middle schools to read to students, work on their literacy, and assist them with reading assignments and after school programs.

Strathmore E.S. Needs Volunteers 

The Community Service Committee has joined with the Leisure World New Yorkers & Friends organization as volunteers to the Strathmore Elementary School on Beaverbrook Rd.  Our volunteers are serving as Recess Door Monitors, which is a continuous need throughout the school year.

Healthy Alternatives

AAHP Health and Nutrition Class is held 2ndThursday. An Instructor is available to provide this hybrid class(in-person and via zoom), on various health topics. Learn new recipes and how to support a healthy lifestyle.

Our community bids farewell to our beloved and former president, colleague, and friend, Janet Overton, who passed away on the morning of Monday, September 9, after an illness of several months.
