The Memorial Dedication of "Shirley's Bench" will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 3pm in the Baltimore room of Clubhouse I.
This event was organized by Phyllis Pratt, a LWAAAC member and neighbor of Mrs. Shirley Statom Henderson teacher, social worker, civil rights and political activist.

Become a Grand Reader
Grand Reader Volunteers(GRV) are needed to assist students at Bel Pre E.S. The GRV allows grandparents or senior citizens to come into elementary or middle schools to read to students, work on their literacy, and assist them with reading assignments and after school programs.

Volunteers Needed
The Community Service Committee has joined with the Leisure World New Yorkers & Friends organization as volunteers to the Strathmore ES on Beaverbrook Rd. Our volunteers serve as Recess Door Monitors, which is a continuous need throughout the school year.
